Working from the owner's point of view, SDI breaks the adversarial, siloed habits of the traditional construction industry and builds a close-knit community in the spirit of IPD (Integrated Project Delivery). We provide dedicated management across the entire building life cycle, creating an ideal home that combines forward-looking vision with lasting value.

Users & Clients

Users & Clients

Starting from the real pain points of residents and users, expectations for spatial function, community health and brand value are set out, with clients involved in the key decisions on design feel and budget.

The SDI Design Team

The SDI Design Team

Acting as the hub of the whole design chain, the team looks beyond exterior aesthetics to the flow between inside and out, daylight and ventilation, and universal scale. By coordinating architecture, structure and MEP, it keeps the design centred on people.

Global Strategy & Cross-disciplinary Think Tank

Global Strategy & Cross-disciplinary Think Tank

For landmark projects pursuing the highest standards of health and sustainability, SDI brings in domestic and international green building and WELL consultants alongside community-building specialists, connecting the project to the world's leading habitat design resources.

Empowered Space × Inclusive Design

01

Universal Design & Human Scale

A people-first philosophy that removes barriers of age and physical ability, embedding accessibility and universal design into every circulation route and detail to create environments that stay welcoming across a lifetime.

02

Healthy Living & the Five Senses

Physical and mental wellbeing come first. Benchmarked against WELL and Fitwel, with rigorous control of air, light, water and sound, we create restorative spaces that are as visually compelling as they are comfortable to live in.

03

Biophilic Design and Natural Restoration

Drawing on Sustainable Urban and Community (SUC) guidance and working with the microclimate — wind, light, water and greenery — biophilic design is brought into built space so people and nature live in harmony, creating an ecological home that breathes.

04

Whole-chain Integration That Delivers Value

The IPD delivery spirit combined with BIM digital twin technology allows services and spatial clashes to be reviewed early in design, protecting both budget and build quality so the design's human intent is fully realised.

The Four Design Stages

01

Life Analysis & Concept Positioning

Site microclimate analysis establishes how wind and sunlight affect the body, while the behaviour patterns of target users — older residents, young children, office workers — are studied in depth. Working with the development and appraisal teams, we produce massing and floor plans at a genuinely human scale, so shared amenities actually promote community health and social contact.

02

Systems Integration & Schematic Design

Strategies for meeting EEWH green building and WELL/Fitwel health standards are confirmed, with BIM used for three-dimensional integration to avoid oppressive spaces and awkward service routing. Accessibility regulations and universal design principles are fully complied with, and a review strategy for urban design and building permits is set out to secure approval smoothly.

03

Value Engineering & Detailed Design

Design drawings are developed into precise construction documents, with every step height, handrail position and window view reviewed for ergonomics. Value engineering (VE) is carried out with the construction side to control the tender budget precisely — without compromising on healthy, non-toxic green materials or comfort.

04

Construction Supervision & Digital Handover

Working with the construction management division, smart site systems keep build quality under close supervision so every inclusive design measure and healthy material is built as drawn and delivered without gaps. At completion, a digital twin model rich in maintenance information (COBie) is handed over seamlessly, providing the data foundation for future property maintenance and long-term community operations.
